Could swap space be shared among different linux distributions?
I shall insert several partitions of around 20Gb but all of them slightly different in size for easy identification. There will be one partition of around 30Gb which will be empty. I shall install Linux to the final partition (25Gb) and hope that it will sort out its own fs. If this is wrong stop me now.

I've written scripts to do exactly this sort of thing for network installations of Linux, for approximately 15000 machines (including test machines and some that had to be replaced or done twice). My spider senses, and experience with Linux, tells me that this will not be as easy as it seems.
